March 3, 2020: It’s a simple fact: The more data you have and the more accurate that data is, the greater the likelihood you will make good decisions.
The NSS-CDS Training Program has accomplished many things in the past few months. Among them, we are building a better statistical picture of who our students and instructors are, and what they possess in terms of training and experience. To do this, we have a new tool in our arsenal.
Starting now, students certified through the NSS-CDS will be invited to fill out a comprehensive online survey. The survey will allow us to do three things:
- Collect data not only on students’ prior training and experience but on what they did and where they went during their most recent NSS-CDS course.
- Allow us to delete the student-background questions from the online registration form. This information will now come from the students themselves. It will further streamline the registration process.
- Help us identify potential quality assurance issues. This is something we’ve not been able to do before.
